Steve Crown (WA & Queen's '80) Named Chair of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce

Steve Crown (WA & Queen's '80) was recently named the Chair of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce.  The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most diverse business association in the Puget Sound region. Founded in 1882 by local business leaders, the Chamber is an independent organization representing 2,200 companies and a regional workforce of approximately 700,000.

He has served on the Chamber’s Board of Trustees since 2006. In October 2013, he co-chaired the Chamber’s Regional Leadership Conference, “Global Cities: Increasing International Engagement & Global Competitiveness.”

Steve is currently vice president and deputy general counsel for China strategy and for developer and platform evangelism in Microsoft’s Legal and Corporate Affairs department. Previously Crown served as VP and deputy general counsel supporting Microsoft’s Office division, as VP and deputy general counsel for Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices division (including Xbox 360, Windows Phone, Zune), and as the lead lawyer for Microsoft’s Windows Client business.
