From the Developmental Editor of HCI
Invitation to Rhodes Scholars to contribute to two forthcoming books on politics and soulJanuary 23, 2008
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Theresa Peluso and I am a developmental editor for HCI Books, home to many New York Times and USA Today bestsellers and the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series.
I am writing today about our “We the People” series and two books that combine politics and soul - yes, it’s possible! As we move closer to an exciting, and crucial, presidential election we would like your help in putting a personal face on the ins and outs of what it means to be a politically-active citizen.
I'd like to invite you to share your experiences, the lessons you’ve learned, and the personal growth you’ve achieved through the political process for possible publication in one, or both, of these new books.
Democrat’s Soul, A Tried and True View of Everything Blue and Republican’s Soul, What It Means to Be Part of the G.O.P. will feature funny, nostalgic and thought-provoking stories peppered with political history, interesting facts and entertaining foibles.
The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2008 and our publication date of July 2008 is just in time for the National Conventions.
Please visit our website for Democrat’s Soul and Republican’s Soul www.republicansoul.com. Click on the navigation tabs for "Story Themes," "Guidelines for Submission," and "Where to Send your Story" for more information.
And, please consider posting an announcement on your Web site or forwarding this invitation to share this opportunity with friends, family or colleagues whom you think would be interested.
If you have any questions, please just drop me an email. Thank you.
Warm Regards,
Theresa Peluso
