Westmont College has named Susan Billington Harper, a Rhodes Scholar, to serve as Westmont College’s Provost and dean of faculty.

Harper is a historian of Christian missions and former lecturer in British imperial history at Harvard, according Westmont

She is a Yale graduate who earned a doctorate in history from Oxford University.

She will leave her position as senior officer of The Pew Charitable Trusts, where she helped launch a new strategy for integrating religion and academic life.
