Tayo Sanders II: Kimberly grad named Rhodes Scholar

Tayo Sanders II wants to make renewable energy more affordable for the average person, and he will pursue that goal in 2015 at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar.

The 2011 Kimberly High School graduate plans to research solar cells at Oxford as part of his doctorate in materials science.

"It's an area that needs more focus," Sanders said. "If we can drive the price of solar cells down and make them more economical, it's a step we should take sooner rather than later."
