Hard Work Ahead for Burse

Raymond Burse says he is more patient, smarter and better equipped to handle the role of Kentucky State University president than he was in the 1980s, when he oversaw record enrollment, more than $60 million in capital improvements and significant enhancements to the academic and financial operations at the institution. 

More than three decades later, the 63-year-old Harvard Law grad will again lead the historically-black university after stepping up from an interim position on Friday to permanently serve as president for at least the next three years.
